Tunnels are the Future.

The current state of tunneling technology makes widespread adoption of Hyperloop technology unviable. The Not-A-Boring competition is fueling advancements towards a sustainable transit by challenging teams to build a Tunnel Boring Machine capable of digging 1.5 meters into the ground,  boring 30 meter tunnel, and it must do this faster than a snail moving the same distance.

Roads occupy valuable space in cities where land availability is scarce. By building tunnels, we can minimize usage of surface area and could move entire transportation networks underground.
Hyperloop networks unlock high-speed regional transportation surpassing other alternatives. Hyperloop enables access to individualized, point to point high-speed transportation.
To solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic, roads must go 3D. Tunneling networks are 3D and provide high-throughput transportation in an economically viable way.

Team Structure

Our team is divided into six sub teams to organize the work for the TBM.

Battery

The Propulsion team is responsible for propelling the TBM through the tunnel as well as driving the rotational motion of the cutter head.

Controls

The Propulsion team is responsible for propelling the TBM through the tunnel as well as driving the rotational motion of the cutter head.

Cutterhead

The Propulsion team is responsible for propelling the TBM through the tunnel as well as driving the rotational motion of the cutter head.

Structures

The Propulsion team is responsible for propelling the TBM through the tunnel as well as driving the rotational motion of the cutter head.

Business

The business team is responsible for maintaining financial records, completing administrative tasks, organizing events, and marketing for the club.

Design

The Design team is responsible for creating images and templates for the club. They update the Hyperloop website and are currently working on designing and building a new one!
